No Fundraiser This Year
The PTSA Board has determined that we will not hold our annual Shine On Chinook fundraising campaign this year. This yearly tradition helps us raise the funds we need to support important programs and resources not covered by the state or district and is our sole fundraiser.
As stewards of your donation dollars, we made this decision based on several factors, including reduced operating expenses from last school year and anticipated reduced costs this year, along with enough reserves in place to support any needs in 2020-2021. Combined with the fact that many families are struggling due to the challenges that COVID-19 has brought, we do not feel it is prudent to ask for money this school year.
Instead of asking for a donation, we are asking for PTSA membership as the best way for us all to stay connected and continue to support our students and staff in an impactful way. We are hard at work looking at creative ways to address the most pressing needs felt by our students, their families, and our incredible Chinook staff.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our school and our students. Chinook is fortunate to have such generous, caring, and engaged parents. We hope this is one less thing you have to think about and look forward to sharing our plans with you in the coming weeks!
If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see or any fundraising comments, please email Kim Millen, VP Fundraising.
Shine on Chinook Information
Your Generous Donation Will Help Chinook To SHINE ON!
Our mission is to enrich the academic and personal experience of all our students, faculty and staff at Chinook. That’s why we’re asking you to help us cover the cost of critical programs and resources that will maintain the stellar reputation that Chinook has developed and to ensure that your student continues to have an exceptional experience. We are stronger together and if we all pitch in, we can reach our goal this year. The Shine on Chinook campaign is the safest, simplest, and most effective way to support your student and his/her teachers as we adapt to ever-changing circumstances.
We understand that some families are more than able to donate $100 or more per student, while others may be struggling to put food on the table. Whatever you are able to give will help us continue the legacy of excellence here at Chinook.
The PTSA, the student body, and faculty are grateful for your support, especially during challenging times like these.
While we are reviewing how our dollars might shift this year, your tax-deductible donation (tax ID 91-1347345) helps support programs and resources such as:
You may donate in two ways:
1. Online: www.chinookptsa.org/shine-on-chinook
2. Or make your check payable to Chinook PTSA and return it to the front office. Please note if your employer will offer a matching gift and note your student's name and grade on the check.
We appreciate our amazing community and school where all our students have the opportunity to excel. A gift from each and every family will help to build on the work we do for each and every student at Chinook.
