Why Membership Matters!
The Chinook Middle School PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) is a nonprofit, volunteer-led organization that raises funds to support and enrich the middle school experience of all students. Our PTSA is dedicated to developing programs and activities that foster a sense of community and support for our students.
PTSA members contribute to the school and their children by staying informed about key information and advocacy efforts, in addition to enjoying various membership benefits. We urge everyone to join in order to reach our goal of 100% membership! Multiple membership options are available, including a discounted rate for teachers, which parents can sponsor to promote teacher participation. We also offer scholarships for membership.

$2.25 - National PTA Dues
$5.75 - Washington State PTA Dues
$1.50 - Bellevue PTA Council Fees
$9.50 - Total $ passed on per member to other PTA Dues and Fees
The big thing that the National, State, and Council fees pay for is Advocacy for our students in Olympia and Washington DC. The remainder of the membership money stays at Chinook and helps pay for the "business" of PTSA -- our website, insurance, and other necessary administrative items.
While a chunk of the money we receive for Membership Dues goes on to State, National, and Bellevue Council PTAs, the money we raise through our fundraising efforts stays here at Chinook for the benefit of our students and school community.
