8th Grade Infomation

8th Grade Party Permission Slips DUE NOW!
The Chinook Middle School 8th Grade Recognition Party will occur on Friday, June 12th from 6:30-9:00 PM. We look forward to having your son or daughter join us! This is a wonderful opportunity for our 8th graders to enjoy each other's company and celebrate their years together. This year's theme is "Bon Voyage". The party will include a DJ, dancing, card and table games, photographs, food and refreshments. The party is for Chinook 8th grade students only. No guests, former students, or siblings will be admitted. This is a PTA sponsored event, which means we have limited funds to make this party a terrific celebration, and memorable event, for our 8th graders. Please consider donating any amount you feel comfortable with to help out with this fun event. Donations can be dropped off at the school office. Please make sure it is marked "for the 8th grade party." Students brought home permission slips previously and need to turn them into the office ASAP so we can plan for everyone to have a wonderful time! If the permission slip did not make it's way home, there are extras in the office.

Purple Policy was reviewed - BHS athletes are held to a higher standard when it comes to partying. Any student athlete attending a gathering where alcohol is being served to minors must leave the party and report it or they could lose eligibility to participate in their team sports. No tolerance for drinking.

It is important for kids to get involved at BHS! There is a place for everyone whether though athletics or after school activities or clubs. There is light at the end of tunnel - Freshman year is tough, but there is a lot of support and the kids will figure it out. Encourage your child to go out for Fall sports - They will make many new friends and it will make the adjustment to high school easier. Examples would be cross country, water polo, or track. For a detailed list visit the Bellevue High School website.

BHS newsletter - committee is looking for someone to help with web design of the newsletter. It will not be printed/hardcopy next year. It will be available online only. Make sure your email address is on the distribution list to receive important information.
